Proposed forestry school at Stanford University : correspondence, 1909.

Collection consists of two letters from William B. Greeley to David Starr Jordan recommending men for the proposed teaching position in forestry; an unsigned manuscript letter to Jordan with a detailed organization for the school's curriculum; and a typed excerpt from a letter by Ernest G. Dudley (Stanford class of 1908) discussing forestry training in general and his experiences at Yale.

Greeley, William Buckhout, 1879-1955

William Buckhout Greeley was a graduate of the Yale Forest School and began his career in forestry in 1904. He was Chief Forester of the U.S. Forest Service from 1920-1928.
